Solution-focused Coaching

Our approach to transformational coaching is solution-focused, along with some elements of transactional analysis, person-centered coaching, gestalt coaching, and positive psychology coaching.

We will provide a safe space to think, and enhance your engagement by keeping you actively thinking.

Topics within the field of Lifestyle Medicine form the heart of our work, but we are happy to coach you around any other aspect of your life that would contribute towards a healthier life.

During a 20-minute chemistry session, we can briefly discuss your coaching wishes.

In a programme that consists of five online face-to-face sessions of one hour each and some “homework” exercises, we will have conversations around how you came to where you are now, your personality traits, your values and strengths, and find options for you to explore as a way forward.

Coaching sessions are strictly one-to-one and tailored to your needs.

We will strive to unlock your thinking, so that you will find your own solutions. We ask questions, won’t provide any advice, and even will remain silent as a powerful tool to keep you thinking when you are. That is the way to successful transformation.

Most thinking is done between the sessions, so please allow at least one week between sessions, but no longer than one month, in order to maintain focus and flow. All is confidential and non-judgemental.

Lifestyle Medicine’s Six Pillars for Lasting Change

Typically, doctors treat “risk factors” for disease like a stroke or a heart attack, by giving medication to lower high blood pressure, elevated blood sugar, and raised cholesterol. Lifestyle Medicine however, treats the actual underlying causes of disease, by enhancing a more active lifestyle and improving nutrition for example.

We coach on any aspect of your life that would contribute towards a healthier life, but the mainstay of our work focuses on the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine: mental wellbeing, relationships & social life, fitness, nutrition, sleep, and harmful substances & addiction.

Examples could be related to career change, family life logistics, wanting to exercise more, eating healthier, sleeping better, quitting smoking, decreasing alcohol intake, stopping gambling, reducing social media use, etc.
